After such a long, hot summer with hardly any rain, it was a relief to finally have a good downpour this bank holiday. Sadly, at the time of writing, it hasn’t been nearly enough to make up for the months without rain, and plants and wildlife are still having a very difficult time. The Great Pond appears to have dried up completely, which is quite a sad sight. The dry conditions have also brought an early harvest, with farmers now worrying about whether they will have enough fodder to keep their animals through the coming months. Let’s hope the rain continues and gives the countryside around us a much needed chance to recover.
Our magazine is again packed full of Parish News and the amazing number of events taking place. Thank you to all the various contributors who keep us up to date with what is happening within their groups and make the magazine so full of interest. Thank you also to all our advertisers and please make sure that when you use their services that you mention that you heard about them in The Chalgrave News.
The sunflower photos were lovely and we have a winner! Tony Henderson ,who will receive a gift voucher from a local garden nursery. Well done Tony and thank you for the lovely photos.
Lastly, we apologise to the Memorial Hall Committee for accidentally leaving out their latest contribution from the magazine. This was entirely an oversight on our part, and we are very sorry. The correct version was added to the online copy.
