We hope everyone has survived the unusually high winds brought by storm Ciara with storm Dennis following on. However we noted that the road through Wingfield was flooded and two big old ash trees have blown over .

Lots of lovely Christmas photos in this edition. Super colourful pictures kindly supplied by former editor Roger Parker show the Senior Citizens Christmas dinner.  Organised by Flitwick Vale Rotary Club and held at Parkfield’s School it was a fabulous example of community spirit.

Save the 4th July this year. Chalgrave Fun and Games at the Memorial Hall features all things American. Dress up if you like, wear a hat, get out the stars and stripes. More information about games and competitions later in the year.

Thanks to Colin for his frank and inspiring writing about his health issues. Not many of us could share this type of information. Peter Warburton has tackled the “roundabout” issue head on. If you agree with his analysis take time to email Highways England let them know your views.

Finally, go to Page 7. Here’s a chance to win £1000 for the Memorial Hall and £500 for you. Do you have a photograph that represents community life in Chalgrave? If so, send it into the Chalgrave News and we will compile a collection of the best shots. Let’s bag this prize for the village!

Keep warm and safe. Spring is coming!
