A note from the editorial team:

Now that we are in the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, it is a good time to get out and enjoy the autumn colour in Chalgrave. This has been quite spectacular this year, due to the mild weather and rain.

After the last year of pandemic, people are starting to get back to a ‘normal’ life, albeit somewhat modified. Face-to-face activities are resuming after a long period of virtual ones. The various groups in the parish were able to meet again (see reports in this issue), and we were able to go to church, the pub, live music and restaurants. This year the Remembrance service was held in All Saints Church. It was a moving and well-attended service in the beautiful surroundings of the old church. Wreaths were also laid at the Memorial Hall the following day.

Special mention to Peter Warburton for organising the Community Litter Pick and to the members of Chalgrave Sports Club who completed Marathons for charity. Next year we are looking forward to lots more communal events in Chalgrave. So far this year is looking more promising for a ‘normal’ Christmas or any other festivities you have planned. Better safe than sorry, so get your vaccine, stay safe and keep up the good work.

We have heard that Debbie Levy is standing down as a parish councillor. Debbie has been an invaluable member for over 9 years. She will be greatly missed and the parish is indebted to her for all the work she has done. Thank you Debbie!

Season’s greetings from the Chalgrave News team.
